Our Lord Jesus Christ has called all believers to share the "gospel" (the good news of salvation) with the people of the Earth. In the last Chapter of Matthew's Gospel, Jesus gives instructions and makes a promise to his disciples and to us; "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
The Apostle Paul in his letter to the believers in Rome writes; "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news."" (Romans 10:14-15)
As followers of Christ, we at Grace are sent out to fulfill Jesus' Great Commission by proclaiming the good news of Jesus as ambassadors of Christ. We recognize we are sent by the direction of the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel message of hope and salvation to people who do not believe and who have not heard the good news. This includes presenting the message of hope with our families, friends, and neighbors.
As a congregation we desire to do God's will and give the gift of hope to the people we meet. The members (family) of Grace rally around a mission statement that conveys our understanding of how God works with us and through us. Our mission statement is Grace Lutheran Church . . .
. . . building faith
. . . sharing hope
