Grace Lutheran Church reaches out to our community with the Word of God and the love of Christ in many and varied ways. Below are a few means by which we share the grace of God with our neighbors.

Every Sunday, Pastor Matthews and other members of Grace lead a worship service for the residents of Manor Care. Using songbooks prepared by the Lutheran Braille Workers organization, hymns are sung, the word of God is read and a short message is preached.

Residents begin gathering shortly before 2:00 p.m. in anticipation of celebrating Sunday worship. Staff of Manor Care assist many residents with needed help to get to the worship space. This time of praise and worship is uplifting for all involved.

The ladies of the Betty Ann Circle reach out to the disadvantaged children of our community by making and donating quilts to be distributed through the resource center located at the Eugene P. Tone School, which is operated by Tacoma Public Schools. Gathering on Tuesdays, the quilters of the Betty Ann assemble and "tie" quilts at Grace. When they have completed 20 or more quilts, they deliver them to Tone School. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to reach out to these kids with something they can call their own.

Grace Lutheran Church is proud to have as one of its members a recent graduate of Mount Rainier Lutheran High School (MRLH). Our congregation supports MRLH in its academic and creative endeavors. Our members annually participate in the Vision Builders fundraising events. We also attend and support MRLH academic programs, music and fine arts presentations, dramatic productions, athletic events and extra-curricular clubs and teams.

Each year, Pastor Matthews joins with and leads weekly chapel services at MRLH on a few occasions. It is a joy to be with these outstanding young men and women. It is also wonderful to see how they are developing into Christian leaders.

In recent years MRLH students have supported Grace Lutheran Church by helping with a car wash for Relay for Life, our Annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Great Advent-ure, and with service projects benefitting the congregation. Our outreach with MRLH is a tremendous benefit to us all.

Grace Lutheran Church is proud to support Concordia Lutheran School. Our members value the contribution Concordia makes to the lives of elementary and pre-school age children. We support Concordia through the Vision Builders fundraising events. Pastor Matthews is also privileged to be able to participate in weekly chapel services at Concordia on a few occasions each year.
